On retirement I will tell my grandsons
That I was the fastest rat of my race
I used to follow my boss’s order at once
No reduction at any cost in my pace
Worked as office boy (Xerox) in my initial days
Said YES to every work with no disgrace
Kept mum and said nothing against tiny raise
I was the fastest rat of my race
Be it site work, office work or documentation
Getting perfect in every work was sole intention
Worked 14 hours a day and sacrificed Sundays
I was the fastest rat of my race
Had a sexy girlfriend with a beautiful face
But she left me as I had no time for embrace
Settled with your grand mom because of increasing age
I was the fastest rat of my race
Unachievable targets & deadlines, I had to chase
It became very difficult to come out of the maze
Career path got blurred & impossible to trace
I was the fastest rat of my race
Dejections were always there in life’s every phase
Life could have been different if I had quit the race
But that SULEMANI was always there in my base
I was the fastest rat of my race
In the end I will tell them to stay healthy & safe
Don’t mess up your life & stay away from rat race
Create your own fast track & be happy always
Don’t repeat this poem to your upcoming race
